Zhen-You, HUNG, born in 1992 in Taipei, lives and works in Taipei as an Asian contemporary artist. His artwork is influenced deeply by his personal life experience. A few years ago, he served on the front line of the fire department and experienced 246 medical and disaster relief missions. Faced with the ups and downs of death and life, prompted him to observe life from different angles and confront different states of the human mind, stimulating the multi-dimensional of deep meaning creation. He’s good at transforming perceptual experience into painting, as a practice of spiritual inner world documentary, while breaking away from the description of painting, but more accurately depicting the main points of perception.
In the context of his works, we can notice the tolerance of the finiteness and unknownness of life, which include joys, relief, and anxiety, brings the abundance of life, and coordination and relaxation, the exploration between the soul and the flesh brings the organic brushstrokes on the surface of the work, and the image co-constructed with oil painting, acrylic, and charcoal has a unique aura similar to traditional oriental calligraphy and painting, showing the balance under self-awareness. This kind of depiction reaches the core of the spirit, he concentrates the essence of the things, removes the chaotic branches of consciousness, and returns the philosophical context of the work to private domain of the individual, to lead the viewer back to their peace, and brew a clean and original life force.
